1.   Vessel Jaguar arrived on the 5th January, 2005 from Newcastle via Den Helder with the PLET system which was discharged at  Marsaxlokk.

Personnel and stevedores were employed to release and unload cargo from vessel and transport it to storage area.

Personnel from Technip and MTS where in attendance to ensure cargo was discharged and stored as planned.

Vessel completed discharging at 1700hrs on the 6th January, 2005 at 1700 and sailed to next port, Tunis at 1730hrs.

2.   MTS coordinated shore-side crane of 300MT and storage space  to enable required space to be available for de-mobbing material. Relevant entry passes were also organised so all persons involved would have access to the base on a 24/7 basis.

A site office was organised with all pertinent equipment and personnel from MTS head office to man on a 24/7 basis for the duration of the operation.

A two 12 hour teams consisting of Supervisor, Welder and 9 labourers were organised from the company’s database pool.  These, along with another two teams from the yard were prepared with plans and scope of works for an efficient turnaround.

The Normand Pioneer arrived on the 21st February, 2005 and de-mobbing started at once.

3.  All matters proceeded well and de-mobbing was completed in time for mobbing to start.  After acceptance from Master that the vessel was returned to original condition,  with new wooden deck planks, the mobbing of the PLET handling system was initiated.

This was successfully completed on the 26th February, 2005 for the scheduled departure of the vessel.

4.   On the 15th March, 2005, M.V. Jumbo Spirit arrived off Marsaxlokk to load the UCS which has  temporarily stored at the  base.  With MTS attendance the system was loaded with the employment of the 300MT shore crane onto the vessel’s deck and lashed welded to surveyor’s approval.

Vessel sailed on the 17th March, 2005 at 12:30hrs.

Conclusion
A post mortem was performed during a meeting between the stakeholders employed by MTS.

It was concluded that MTS and stakeholders performance was satisfactory and only very minor items needed to be addressed in future operations.

Peter,
Many thanks for the excellent service provided by your company during the Mob and Demob of the Normand Pioneer while in The Malta Freeport.
There is no doubt that the attention to detail and round the clock service you and your family provided played a major part in the safe and efficient vessel turnaround we achieved.

We look forward to working with you again and have no hesitation in recommending your services to others intending to use Malta in their vessel operations.

Best regards,
Ali Bell.
